The Nepal Cricket Team has been issued their visas by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the upcoming three-match T20I series against the West Indies, which will be hosted by Sharjah. The team is likely to depart for the UAE on Monday, as said by their spokesperson. They had earlier planned to leave for the UAE on Friday, but due to the visa issue, their departure got delayed. Amid the tensions and chaos in Nepal due to the protest, the UAE had stopped issuing tourist and work visas to Nepali citizens. However, now that their visas have been approved, Nepal will be able to play their scheduled T20I series in due time. With the coaching staff and squad players confirmed to travel, the team can now finally shift their focus to the preparations. This T20I will play a crucial role for the Nepal team as they are eyeing a spot in the upcoming T20I World Cup, which is scheduled to be played in February 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. They will be featuring in the T20I World Cup Asia-Pacific qualifiers in Oman. Nepal will play the T20 series on September 27, 29, and 30 in Sharjah. After that, they will head to Oman for the T20 World Cup Asia–Pacific qualifiers. The team will later return to the UAE for the ICC Cricket League 2 matches against the UAE and the United States. Nepal has already announced a solid 16-member squad for their T20I series against the West Indies, and the squad has been named as the ‘Unity Cup’ by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) in memory of lives lost during recent youth-led protests.
