Pakistan will play Australia in the second ODI match of the ongoing three-match series at the Adelaide Oval on Friday, November 8. Mohammad Rizwan's team had a poor start to the series, losing the first match by a two-wicket margin at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Pakistan, after batting first, posted a modest total of 203 runs with the help of their lower-order batters, especially Naseem Shah. The Aussies chased it, thanks to a valuable cameo from skipper Pat Cummins who stuck to the end and helped his team to chase it down. During the first ODI at the MCG, Naseem had to leave the field after suffering cramps while bowling his eighth over, appearing visibly uncomfortable and clutching his left calf. Although the team physio attended to him quickly, Naseem eventually exited the field on his own. However, according to a report from Cricket Pakistan, the star pacer has since recovered and even joined Pakistan’s practice session in Adelaide yesterday. It’s now highly likely he’ll be available for selection in the crucial upcoming game. Coming in at No. 9, Naseem launched a spirited counterattack, scoring 40 off 39 balls with four sixes and a four, pulling Pakistan out of a tricky 148-7 situation. He later delivered a strong bowling performance, with figures of 1/39 from 7.2 overs, in Pakistan’s narrow two-wicket loss in the series opener. Australia currently holds a 1-0 lead in the three-match series after clinching a close victory at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The second ODI is slated to take place at the Adelaide Oval on Friday.
