The Board of Cricket Council in India (BCCI) has released a video of an official engraving the names of Nitish Reddy and Jasprit Bumrah on the MCG Honours Board for respectively scoring a century and taking fifer on the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. A proud Nitish Reddy who was watching the process finally took a photo with the board and took photos of his name and that of Bumrah's. Bumrah became the third Indian to have fifers in two Boxing Day Tests. Previously, Kapil Dev and BS Chandrasekhar held the record. Not only that, he completed 200 wickets after scalping Travis Head in the second inning and became the one with least average of any player having more than 200 wickets. Speaking of Nitish Reddy, he debuted in this series in Perth after many controversies regarding his inclusion. Since day one, he has showcased his skills with the bat, becoming a major contributor of runs down the order. In the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy, he amassed 294 runs playing 4 Tests, being the third highest run getter in the series. At Melbourne, he scored 114 runs, having Washington Sundar by his side, who played a gritty innings of 50 runs, keeping India's hope alive. However, India lost the Test by 184 runs and will play the final test of the series on January 3 at Sydney.
