Sports Journalist Vikrant Gupta claimed that there is some political influence behind one player's selection in the Asia Cup 2025 squad. He had recently attended a chat show with Sports Tak, where he claimed the player's political connection that aided a spot in the squad. However, he didn't like to call out the player's name publicly. Nam nehi lunga. Yaar, aisi selection hogi ab India mein?"
