The Indian cricket team started training for the second Test against Bangladesh, to be played from Friday in Kanpur. Team India comfortably won the first Test and would look to repeat that again. In case they do, that puts Rohit Sharma and team in a solid position in the race for the World Test Championship final. However, Virat Kohli did not do well in the first Test. He departed cheaply on 6 runs in the first innings to Hasan Mahmud and for 17 runs to Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the second innings. On Wednesday, Virat Kohli was dismissed twice in just four overs by little-known fast bowler Jamshed Alam during practice. The bowler from Lucknow got him out with out-swinging deliveries. Jamshed Alam told NDTV, "I bowled 24 balls to Virat Kohli. My speed was around 135 kmph and I got him out twice. The practice pitch was helping pacers, though the Kanpur pitch generally helps spinners. Virat Kohli told me, 'Well bowled bhai, kitne saal ke ho (How old are you)? I told him that I am 22. He replied, mehnat karte raho (keep working hard). I am over the moon after dismissing him," Also Read | Brad Hogg Picks Joe Root over Virat Kohli to Break Sachin’s Test Runs Tally Former Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali has predicted that Virat Kohli will make a good comeback in the Border Gavaskar Trophy being played against Australia scheduled to start from November 22. Ali Said, "Sab khush hote rahe Bangladesh aur New Zealand wale match mein, Virat shuru hoga australia se (Let people be happy with how he is performing against Bangladesh, Virat will return to form against Australia). He will like the pacy wickets in Australia. Big players often lose concentration against weak teams but they do well against tougher oppositions," Ali said on his YouTube channel. "People say India win at home but they have won two series in Australia as well. India won't allow Australia to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy later this year as well." Team India started a two-match Test series against Bangladesh in Chennai on September 19. They won the first test convincingly and will next face Bangladesh in the second test on Friday. The team also tops the points table of the current World Test Championship (WTC) cycle, closely followed by Australia in the second position. So far in this WTC cycle, India played three Test series, West Indies and South Africa and England. They won West Indies and England, and the series against South Africa ended 1-1.
