Before joining Delhi Capitals for IPL 2025, Bangladesh's leading pacer, Mustafizur Rahman, produced a match-winning effort against the UAE in Abu Dhabi. The Capitals signed Mustafizur after Australia's Jake Fraser-McGurk withdrew from the tournament for personal reasons. In this match, Mustafizur's figures of 4-0-17-2 stood out on a pitch that was better for batters and a high-scoring affair. Chasing 192, the UAE needed only 38 off the last 18 - Asif Khan was 40 off 16. But in the 18th over, Mustafizur turned the game, went for only three runs and put Bangladesh back in the match. Delhi Capitals have signed Mustafizur for Rs 6 crore to reinforce their squad for the later part of the IPL schedule. Early confusion arose when the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) indicated that they were not told about the agreement. The confusion was largely dispelled when BCB subsequently provided the NOC for the player to start participating.
