Earlier in the day, Aussie opener Jake Fraser-McGurk had made himself unavailable for the rest of the season citing personal reasons and now he has been replaced by Mustafizur Rahman who is back for his second stint with the Capitals. This move from the Capitals, to replace a top-order batter with a pacer, is being seen as a potential cover for Mitchell Starc who is another left-arm pacer in the squad alongside T Natarajan. Starc has flown back to Australia after the suspension of the league and it is still unclear whether he will be joining the Capitals for the upcoming matches having been picked up in the Australian squad for the WTC final against South Africa from June 11. Delhi Capitals are currently placed just outside the top-4 in the points table with 13 points from 11 matches and have a realistic opportunity of making it to the playoffs. They will play their next match on May 18 (Sunday) against Gujarat Titans at their designated home venue which is the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi.
