Mumbai Indians (MI) delivered an impressive performance in the 45th match of IPL 2025 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Wankhede Stadium. Batting first, Mumbai Indians posted a tough 215/7 in 20 overs. The highest run-scorer for MI were Ryan Rickelton, who scored 58 off 32 balls, and Suryakumar Yadav, who scored 54 off 28 balls. Both of them played attacking cricket, scoring boundaries and sixes. Ryan Rickelton scored 181.25, whereas Suryakumar's strike rate was 192.85. Naman Dhir also chipped in with 25 not out of 11 balls with two sixes, while Corbin Bosch added 20 off just 10. LSG bowlers, on the other hand, were unable to stem the tide of runs. Mayank Yadav, Prince Yadav, and Ravi Bishnoi each got one wicket but MI continued to keep the scoreboard ticking at more than a rate of 10 runs per over. Mumbai bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult, took command of the match. Specifically, it was Bumrah's good day with four wickets conceding just 22 runs from 4 overs, with that vital one for Aiden Markram and David Miller. Trent Boult picked up three wickets, Will Jacks took two wickets, while Corbin Bosch scalped a wicket of Ravi Bishnoi. The highest scorer for Lucknow Super Giants was Ayush Badoni, who scored 35 off 22 balls, followed by Mitchell Marsh's 34 off 24 balls. But the target run rate continued to soar, and LSG couldn't sustain the chase. Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult continued to take wickets, and LSG were eventually bowled out for a mere 161/10 in 20 overs, losing by 54 runs. They are now at the second spot in the points table with 12 points and with four more matches to go, they have a strong chance to not just qualify, but also secure a spot in the top two.
