Mumbai Indians pacer Deepak Chahar joins the India nets a day before the third Test against England at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground. The pacer was seen bowling in the nets; however, he is not likely to be added in the squad. Earlier, Indian captain Shubman Gill gave a call to Punjab spinner Harpreet Brar to have a net session before the Edgbaston Test. Before the Lord's Test, calling Chahar looks like a similar move. In the shortest format, Chahar has claimed 31 wickets at an average of 24.09. His most recent outing in international cricket came in December 2023. In the 2025 Indian Premier League season, Chahar turned out for the Mumbai Indians after being acquired for ₹9.25 crore during the mega auction. Remarkably, he holds the record for the best bowling figures by an Indian in T20Is—6 wickets for just 7 runs in 3.2 overs against Bangladesh in 2019. Only Yuzvendra Chahal, with a six-wicket haul of his own, joins him in this elite club.
