One of the two most successful Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises, Mumbai Indians have recently decided to change its team management for the upcoming IPL season. First, they roped in Mahela Jayawardene as their new head coach and they’ve brought in their former bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, who will be working with his co-partner Lasith Malinga. This is not the first time when Paras will be working with Mumbai Indians, having previously worked with this franchise for 4 long years. Mhambrey was part of the Mumbai Indians' coaching team during their victorious run in the IPL 2013 season and also played a key role in their triumphs in the Champions League T20 tournaments in 2011, and 2013. He recently served as the bowling coach in the Indian coaching setup, where he significantly contributed to the fast-bowling unit's continued success. Under his guidance and management, the Indian team went on to win the T20 World Cup. He also brings a wealth of experience to the team. The franchise has struggled in recent years, following a decade of success. In a bold decision, they replaced Rohit with Hardik Pandya as captain, a move that ultimately didn't pay off. As a result, the team ended IPL 2024 at the bottom of the table, securing only 4 wins.
