He was dropped from the squad and even excluded from the central contracts list after skipping domestic cricket despite BCCI’s orders. Kishan has played two Tests, 27 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and 32 T20 Internationals (T20Is for India. In the IPL, he last played for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2024, having scored 354 runs at an average of 35.40 and a strike rate of 152.5 in 14 matches, including a century and a fifty. In his last two FC matches in County Cricket, Kishan scored two consecutive fifties (87 and 77) while playing for Nottinghamshire. Still, the wicket-keeper batter is not in the contention, even when India's regular wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant is out of the game following an injury he suffered in England Test. The Road Ahead for Kishan Kishan has a mountain to climb to get back into the national team. India's present set of in-form batters in all formats makes it tough to find a place for him. Yet, this moment gives an indication that his popularity with the fans hasn't waned despite being out of the team.
