Following Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clinching a 4-wicket win against Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2025, there was a lighter moment between MS Dhoni and Deepak Chahar which grabbed all the attention. While the post-match handshakes were happening, Chahar, who plays for MI now, was getting into some friendly banter with his ex-skipper. Dhoni has been the key to making Deepak Chahar a reliable force, and the right-arm pacer has been a major contributor to CSK's success in the past. CSK did not retain or purchase him for IPL 2025, though, and MI chose to bring in their arch-rival of previous years for the season. He was aggressive during his batting as well as once he was dismissed and Dhoni must have taken notice of it. So, at the end of the match, when players shook hands, MS Dhoni thought of retaliating. On a lighter note, the erstwhile CSK captain, popularly referred to as Thala used his bat to slap Deepak Chahar, demonstrating the wonderful chemistry and friendship between the two. Earlier, there have been numerous instances when the two have engaged in a good banter, and MSD is always found playing pranks on the pacer. Speaking of the game, Mumbai Indians played first, but were not able to get started as Noor Ahmed took a four-wicket haul. CSK also began well with Ruturaj Gaikwad scoring fifty, but young spinner Vignesh Puthur took three wickets and supported MI back into the contest. The game went up to the last over, but Rachinn Ravindra remained calm, and guided his team over the line.
