Team India star bowler, Mohammed Siraj, bowled his heart out in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy and helped the team draw the series 2-2 with his performance, single-handedly. In a recent conversation with the Indian Express, the pacer revealed how he was determined to play one more Test match for the team if it had been there. Being a workhorse, Siraj gave his absolute best in the final Test match and grabbed the Player of the Match award in the fifth Test match. The skipper gave him a free hand in deciding his availability to play the final match. With Jasprit Bumrah already sidelined due to his workload management, it all came down to Siraj for his excellence and in pressure situations. He also revealed that he would’ve played one more Test match in the series had it been there. As quoted by the Indian Express, Siraj said: “Shubman Gill asked me, ‘Kaisi hai teri body?’ I said, ‘Ekdum first-class’. He asked me if I would play. I said yes. He said, you are the main bowler for us, like Jasprit Bumrah, you decide. I said I’m available and am 100 per cent fit. I will give it everything. As for my body being tired, to be honest, I would have played one more Test if it was there. I didn’t feel tired. But I was in a zone. When you enter that zone, you don’t know what you are doing, but just have that feeling that I have to do something here.” Mohammed Siraj bowled his heart out on that tour, becoming India’s highest wicket taker in the series with 23 wickets in more than 185.3 overs, with an average of around 32.43. In the drama-filled fifth and final Test match at the Kia Oval, Mohammed Siraj wreaked havoc with his bowling spell, taking nine wickets in the match and giving India a 6-run hard-fought victory to level the five-match series 2-2.
