An early clash of tempers was seen in the IPL 2026 final on Sunday as Gujarat Titans bowler Mohammed Siraj and Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Venkatesh Iyer exchanged heated words during the RCB chase at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The incident came in the very first over of the innings as RCB began their pursuit for 156 runs in what is a high-voltage summit encounter and as the players have their nerves on the field. Early Tussle During the RCB Innings Siraj should think twice before sledging Venkatesh Iyer. He needs to remember that the opposing team fields a player notorious for shutting down the ultimate masters of sledging the Australians themselves.#RCBvsGT pic.twitter.com/JAcj08iw6h — Anviksha (@Anviksha_) May 31, 2026 The heated exchange happened on the fourth ball of the innings with Siraj bowling a full ball to Venkatesh Iyer's pads. Iyer played a flick but failed to get a good connection as it brushed against the inside of the pad and went down fine leg for a couple of runs. After the delivery, Siraj walked towards Iyer and exchanged a word or two with the RCB batter. The television cameras captured the entire passage as the two appeared locked in the fierce battle. The interesting passage saw Iyer retrieve the ball and go back to hand it to Siraj, but the Gujarat Titans speedster wasn't interested and turned back to resume his run-up. The duel lasted a while and was picked up by many fans on social media with fiery reactions from the IPL title match. Also Read | Watch: IPL 2026 Final Controversy! Earlier, GT had managed to score 155/8 in 20 overs thanks to a fluctuating batting order. Washington Sundar starred for the team with an unbeaten fifty off 37 balls, supported by 20 from Nishant Sindhu and 19 from Jos Buttler. For RCB, Rasikh Salam Dar had an excellent performance with the ball, finishing the game with figures of 3/27. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood finished with two wickets each and Krunal Pandya with one. As they had to defend the low total of 155, Gujarat Titans would have been looking for early wickets and sustain pressure throughout the innings, which is what seems like an attempt of Siraj by attacking Venkatesh Iyer. The clip has already made rounds of social media with fans dissecting the incident in a game of such stature. With the game going down the wire the importance of the game was quite visible on the faces of the players and with every run and every wicket it held extreme importance to win it for the IPL 2026 trophy.
