Mohammed Shami, the Indian fast bowler, is being take care of by the medical team of BCCI at the Centre of Excellence and they are closely working on the recovery of the bowler after right heel surgery. The right-arm pacer has been recovered completely from the injury. After recovering from the injury, Shami participated in the Ranji Trophy this November, where the bowlers bowled 43 overs for Bengal while playing and Madhya Pradesh. He also played nine matches for his side in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024, where he had some extra bowling session to get prepared for the load of Test matches. However, this has brought a minor swelling in his right knee. The medical team of BCCI has stated that Shami will require some more time to recover from this and hence, his participation for the last two Tests of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 has been ruled out. This development has come out as a setback for the Indian team and fans as Shami's return would have bolstered the bowling strength of team India in the last two Tests.
