In 40 Test matches, he amassed 1,353 runs at an average of 29.41, while his First-Class career saw him score 7,169 runs, including 14 centuries. Despite his international career being cut short, he remained a sought-after player in the IPL, winning the 2022 title with Gujarat Titans. His decision to retire wasn’t abrupt. The 40-year-old had contemplated it for a while but was encouraged to extend his career by Sourav Ganguly and his wife, Romi. Finally, in November 2024, Saha confirmed that the Ranji Trophy would be his last dance in cricket. On his X account, Saha wrote, “After a cherished journey in cricket, this season will be my last.
