The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Saturday that they are penalizing Hyderabad Kingsmen pacer Mohammad Ali for breaching the Pakistan Cricket League (PSL) Code of Conduct. According to the board, the right-arm bowler violated Article 2.21 of the PSL Code of Conduct, which addresses "Conduct that brings the game into disrepute." As a consequence, the 33-year-old pacer has been fined 10 percent of his match fee for a Level 1 breach of the PSL Code of Conduct. This incident took place during the 16th over of Islamabad United's innings in the PSL 11 Eliminator 2 against Hyderabad Kingsmen, where Ali found himself in a heated verbal exchange with Mark Chapman. The PCB noted that Ali admitted to the offense, which meant there was no need for a formal hearing. The charge was brought forth by on-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Shahid Saikat, who had to step in to separate the two players, while match referee Roshan Mahnama imposed the fine.
