Former Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has slammed England in the wake of the team's 4-1 loss in the 2025-26 Ashes in Australia. Ben Stokes' men lost the first three Tests before winning in Melbourne, while Australia eventually won the series with a five-wicket victory in Sydney. Johnson questioned England of being unable to deliver when it mattered, despite the faith they've had in themselves going into major Ashes encounters. Mitchell Johnson Calls England 'Mentally Weak and Fragile' Johnson's comments come as he did not mince his words while talking about England and their recent woes in playing against Australia. Johnson said: "Every Ashes cycle brings the same old story from these Poms. Australia's batting or bowling is weak, yet every time, they end up getting humiliated, exposed and sent back home empty-handed. They are a mentally weak and fragile team, only hyped up thanks to their media; there is nothing special about this current team." The comments come as former England pacer Stuart Broad also questioned the strength of Australia's team ahead of the 2025-26 Ashes. Broad had said that Australia remained favourites at home but that there were question marks around their squad. He said: "Australia have to be massive favourites. The question really was 'Which team's under the most pressure?' Well, Australia are under the most pressure because they're expected to win. They're brilliant at home. But they've got question marks over their team and question marks over [the fitness of] captain [Pat Cummins]." Broad also said that Australia was their weakest side since England's famous 2010-11 Ashes series win.
