In the ongoing game between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), South African international and opener Aiden Markram got to the feat of 1000 runs in his IPL career. He did so by hitting DC skipper Axar Patel for a boundary in the second over of the match after the latter won the toss and put LSG into bat first. LSG have been hamstrung by injuries to their pace contingent and need their batters to go big in their first outing against DC, the opening partnership between Markram and Marsh went on for 4.4 overs and collected 46 runs before Markram became the first IPL victim of debutant leg spinner Vipraj Nigam while Marsh continues to go strong in Vishakhapatnam with hard-hitting Nicholas Pooran joining him in the middle and LSG placed at 64/1 at the end of the powerplay.
