Excitement in the air ahead of the Indian Premier League's mega-auction, which will reveal how teams will line up for the 18th edition of the IPL. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has scheduled the mega-auction for November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Perhaps the most interesting name on that list is that of the legendary pacer James Anderson from England, who has been looking to make his first appearance in the league that is considered quite rich in cash. The 42-year-old, who has stuck to his base price of INR 1.25 crore, is all set for a chase for the cricketing fraternity to look forward to, whether he will end up in IPL or not. Vaughan claims that he won't be surprised if Anderson is picked by the Men in Yellow before IPL 2025. Here is what Michael Vaughan said on the Club Prairie Fire Podcast "You mention James Anderson, I wouldn't be surprised if Jimmy Anderson ends up at Chennai Super Kings. You heard it here first. They are a team that like someone who can swing it in the first few overs. They had a swinger, be it Shardul Thakur. It would not surprise me if Jimmy Anderson ends up at ChennaI," Anderson is arguably the best pacer to have played Test cricket. His last white-ball appearance for England came in 2015 after that he decided to target only red-ball cricket for the extension of his career. Anderson retired as the most number of wickets a seamer could garner in Test cricket, with 704 wickets from 188 games. The Burnley-born has not played T20 cricket since 2014. That can somewhat go against him in the auction as teams may feel apprehensive about the stalwart's skills in the shortest format of the game. However Super Kings have been a franchise that has backed experienced players in the past and Anderson certainly fits the bill.
