Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz donated prize money from the Pakistan Test series to the family of the rickshaw puller killed in the recent student protests of Bangladesh. For the last couple of months, a political tension has emerged in the country as well as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina stepped down. Mehidy shared an emotional message on his Facebook page along with a picture of him and the family of the rickshaw puller. The all-rounder said that after he saw a video of the man's son crying over social media, he decided to donate his prize money to the family for helping him. In a post, Mehidy wrote: "A video that went online recently caught my eyes. The crying voice of a rickshaw driver brother's child in the anti-discriminatory student movement after his father was killed has made me think again and again. I vowed to stand by my brother's family. I promised that I will hand over the money for the 'Man of the Series' award in Pakistan." He added: "Finally, that goal is fulfilled. I was able to hand over this money to them yesterday. I know, this means nothing compared to the lost life. I will be glad if I am able to make their life a little easier." Mehidy was in different form in the test series of Pakistan. In this series, he scored 155 runs with two half-centuries and became the top wicket-taker with 10 wickets, one five-wicket haul included. Bangladesh did the whitewash to the home team in that series by 2-0. Mehidy wants to hold the momentum of these two successive successes against India on September 19 in Chennai in the upcoming Test.
