Nathan McSweeney, Australia's new opener in the absence of the retired David Warner, has shared his preparations against Jasprit Bumrah. The 5-match test series will start on November 22, with the first match being played at Perth. Nathan McSweeney has earned the test call after having an impressive outing with Australia A and his Sheffield Shield success. While speaking to the SEN Radio, McSweeney disclosed that he used video analysis methods to figure out Bumrah's bowling action—his release and rhythm. Even though he admits that its tough to produce an exact replica of Bumrah's action, McSweeney is trying his best. He said, "I'll definitely dive a lot deeper into it when I get to Perth, but I can't help myself. I'm just trying to visualize how I'm going to go about it." The fifth-highest run getter in the Sheffield Shield elated his straightforward gameplan for the BGT. He said, "Decision-making is the most important thing for my game. Being an opening batter, it's making sure I'm leaving the ball well and making the bowlers bowl to me." Cricket Australia was in sheer tension with the opening slot after Warner's departure. However, McSweeney is looking to fill the gap, trying to score more aggressively like his predecessor. He is not just focusing on how to deal with Bumrah, but he is working on his techniques, like patience, and is trying to spend more time on the crease, hoping to produce more runs for the team.
