The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), in a remarkable turn of events, announced that it will launch a structured graduation programme for the city cricketers, and it will be done in the collaboration with the Mumbai University. This graduation programme will benefit the aspiring cricketers in the city. In a release, the MCA said: "The programme will emphasize practical training, ensuring that aspiring players receive comprehensive hands-on experience. This initiative aims to equip young cricketers with the necessary skills to excel at professional levels while also providing academic qualifications." The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) also said that they will send the young and aspiring cricketers from the city on the UK tour. This decision was taken to give international exposure to young cricketers and allow them to play against some quality cricketers in different conditions. The release stated: "MCA will identify and select promising emerging players for a UK tour. The initiative is designed to offer players invaluable experience of international playing conditions and competitive matches against high-caliber opposition. This exposure will play a crucial role in their development and preparation for future challenges at higher levels." Ajinkya Naik, the MCA President, said: "We are committed to the growth and development of cricket in Mumbai. These decisions reflect our dedication to nurturing young talent, enhancing facilities, and providing international exposure to our players. We look forward to seeing these initiatives positively impact the cricketing community." The MCA has also planned to build a new cricket academy in Thane district, to address the growing need of the training facilities in consideration. This academy will nuture the aspiring cricketers and will avail them with the required facilities. The statement read: "With land leased from Thane Municipal Corporation, MCA will establish a state-of-the-art academy focused on grassroots development and elite coaching." This will be the third edition of the tournament and eight teams from different parts of the city will participate in this tournament. The last edition of the tournament was played in 2019, and it is after six years that the T20 Mumbai League will have a revival after getting a good amount of traction in the first two seasons. After its Apex Council meeting on Thursday, MCA said: "The tournament is expected to showcase some of the best cricketing talent from Mumbai and beyond, providing a competitive platform for players to display their skills." The MCA has taken all these initiatives after the 50th Anniversary of the iconic Wankhede Stadium.
