A major boost for Lucknow Super Giants comes from the fact that speedster Mayank Yadav is expected to join the squad on Tuesday. After undergoing rehabilitation for injuries to his back and toe, Mayank is likely to be available for the IPL 2025 match against Rajasthan Royals on April 19 in Jaipur. The young cricketer is known for his express pace and sharp movement but has missed most of the matches after injuring his back in the T20I series against Bangladesh. Just when he was set to return, another setback in the form of a toe injury delayed the process once more. These continuous injuries have cast serious doubts within the LSG camp concerning the efficiency of their bowling department for the season. However, Mayank, together with the National Cricket Academy (NCA) staff, worked hard to get back on track, and he is now set to return to action on Tuesday, April 15. NCA officials in Bengaluru confirmed that the young speedster is now fully fit to play in the ongoing IPL 2025 season. His return could significantly boost LSG's bowling attack as the tournament gathers high speed. LSG wanted to rule him out for all the matches this season and then grab someone from the list of players who went unsold, having not received any clear recovery update or any indication of his availability. But BCCI and NCA did not allow that to happen. This created a dilemma for LSG, especially when they faced the injury issues of a few of their other fast bizarre men. But Mayank was adamant, motivated to recover and play by mid-April. Today, fully fit with a mind willing to play, would be another significant piece for Lucknow in their push for a playoff spot in IPL 2025 if he stayed injury-free. At the same time, the 2nd match of IPL 2023 will be played on Monday, April 14, between LSG and Chennai Super Kings at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. LSG is currently sitting fourth in the points table, having won four out of six games, while CSK sits at the bottom, having won just one match and lost five in a row. However, Lesh LSG's skipper Rishabh Pant has so far struggled with the bat this season, scoring just 40 runs in six games.
