Gujarat Titans have appointed former Australian wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade as their assistant coach for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL). Wade, who played for the Titans in 2022 and 2024, returns to the franchise in a new role. The Titans announced Wade’s appointment with an enthusiastic post: “Champion. Fighter. Now our Assistant Coach! Welcome back to the GT Dugout, Matthew Wade!” The 36-year-old brings experience and leadership to the coaching setup, which already includes head coach Ashish Nehra, batting coach Parthiv Patel, and assistant coaches Aashish Kapoor and Narender Negi. Having played 15 IPL matches across his career, Wade scored 183 runs with a highest score of 35. After making his IPL debut in 2011 with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), he had to wait over a decade to return to the league. Though his performances with Gujarat Titans were not standout with the bat, his aggressive approach and sharp cricketing mind made him a valuable team member.
