Star Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne again failed in the first inning of the 3rd Test match that is happening at the Gabba, and his dismissal was very soft as it was called a lack of focus by former Aussie batter and legend Matthew Hayden. He also criticized Marnus for losing his concentration after that incident with Siraj. Matthew Hayden was disappointed with the batter who was coming into the back of a well-made half-century in the second Test match of the BGT 2024-2025. He expressed that Marnus should have focus on his batting rather than getting distracted by the Siraj's incident. Here is what Matthew Hayden said while commentating on Star Sports "He saw 55 deliveries, has had no go forward whatsoever. Even that little exchange, if it was me at the crease and a bowler does that. I am not caring less. I'm not even looking at the bowler. I'm not acknowledging what he's doing one bit. He's nowhere near my space. In fact, I probably would have told him to get out of my space before he even got to the bails," In the 33rd over of the innings of the Aussies, Siraj passed by Labuschagne and flicked the bails. Yet the batsman quickly flipped them back into place. At this point, it looked like Labuschagne had everything under control, but the same was not true of the next over when the talented Nitish Kumar Reddy sent him back to the dressing room. But he could only get away with a thick outside edge that was safely taken by Virat Kohli at second slip. This marked the end of Labuschagne's watchful 12-run knockoff 55 balls. Hayden believes that the 30-year-old should have dealt with Siraj's antics in much better fashion as he got out just a couple of deliveries later. This was not the first time of hostility between Siraj and Labuschagne. Their on-field banter began in the first Test in Perth, where Siraj angrily threw the ball at the stumps after Labuschagne withdrew from a delivery due to crowd distraction. After this incident, Siraj became a villain for the Australian fans as they began booing him, a trend that continued at the Gabba.
