Cricket South Africa has appointed Mandla Mashimbyia as the head coach of the South Africa Women's team after Hilton Moreeng ended his contract of 11 years in May. Dillon du Preez was serving as the interim head coach and accompanied the team in the T20 World Cup in the UAE. However, he had expressed his uncertainty and also felt that there was a lot to work on with the team. Mashimbyi's first major assignment is a three-match ODI series against England, starting on December 4 in Kimberley. Later, South Africa Women will play a one-off Test in Bloemfontein from December 15-18. Currently, England holds a 2-0 lead in the T20I series, with the third and final match scheduled for Centurion on Saturday. He has also expressed his gratitude to Titan's cricket for supporting him in his coaching career. Mashimbyi has been a fast bowler during his playing time and has played 48 first-class games, 49 List A games, and one T20 in a South Africa domestic career that stretched from 2003-10. He has coached the Titans franchise, has been a bowling coach and assistant coach with South Africa Men, and was recently fast-bowling coach at Paarl Royals in the SA20.
