Manav Suthar made his mark on the biggest stage by claiming a superb six-wicket haul on his Test debut as India thrashed Afghanistan in their one-off Test in New Chandigarh on Monday. The 23-year-old left-arm spinner was instrumental in skittling out Afghanistan for just 152 to follow up India's 564 for eight declared, picking up career-best figures of six for 33 from 22 overs (10 maidens). The huge 412-run lead enabled the Indians to enforce the follow-on with skipper Shubman Gill keen to pile more misery on the visitors. After taking three wickets on day two of the match, the spinner completed his brilliant debut display on day three by returning to claim a further three scalps, recording what is considered one of the best bowling performances from an Indian debutant.
