The former Indian captain MS Dhoni has been often celebrated as "captain cool" due to his calm and composed demeanor under pressure. However, his teammate, Mohit Sharma, revealed a side of MS Dhoni, who was raining abuses on him despite taking a wicket. Mohit Sharma, while speaking to Crictracker, recalled an incident during the CLT20, when Mahi lost his cool. It happened during a match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, when MS Dhoni summoned Ishwar Pandey instead of Mohit Sharma. Mohit, meanwhile, had started warming up. Watching that, MS Dhoni got angry and abused Mohit Sharma. The abuse continued even after Mohit got Yusuf Pathan's wicket in the first ball. Mohit Sharma said, "I had a lot of moments. Mahi bhai has a cool and calm aura. You do not expect him to lose his cool. Being a young guy, you get excited when he loses his cool at you. There was a moment in the CLT20 against the Kolkata Knight Riders, Mahi bhai called Ishwar Pandey to bowl, but I thought he called me." The umpire said that I have to continue bowling as I had begun my run-up. He (Dhoni) lost his cool at me and abused me. I took Yusuf [Pathan] bhai‘s wicket on the first ball. During the celebration, Mahi bhai was still hurling abuses. At the same time, I had a lot of off-field moments." Dhoni and the experienced Indian pacer shared a long-standing bond in the Indian Premier League, but things changed dramatically in the 2023 season. Representing Gujarat Titans in the summit clash, Mohit Sharma found himself bowling the last over against his former team, with Ravindra Jadeja on strike.
