Luke Williams has officially been named the new head coach of the Southern Brave Women’s team for the 2025 edition of The Hundred. The decision comes after Charlotte Edwards stepped down to become head coach of the England women’s national team, replacing Jon Lewis. Williams had served as Edwards’ assistant since the inaugural season of the tournament and now steps up to lead the side following her exit. His appointment follows a successful coaching journey across domestic leagues. Williams led Adelaide Strikers to consecutive WBBL titles in 2022 and 2023 and most recently guided Royal Challengers Bengaluru to victory in the 2024 Women’s Premier League. He took over the RCB role from Ben Sawyer in 2023. Williams said, "It's a privilege to take charge of Southern Brave this year from Charlotte Edwards. Having worked with the team for a number of years, we have an excellent group of players and staff and recruited well in the draft earlier this year, so hopefully we can get back to Finals Day and lift the trophy this summer.” Read also: Cricketer Harjeet Singh Dies After Hitting Six in Punjab Match Trescothick Joins as Batting Coach, Brave Eye Redemption in 2025 Alongside the head coach announcement, Southern Brave have appointed former England men’s batter Marcus Trescothick as their new batting coach.
