Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are buoyed as their fast bowler Avesh Khan has got the green signal from the BCCI to play IPL 2025. He had an injury issue in the right knee, but now he is cleared from the BCCI medical team this week. Avesh is set to join the LSG squad soon. This pacer was last on field in the last week of January, while the last time he donned the Indian jersey was in November when he played a T20I against South Africa. Plus, he skipped Madhya Pradesh's last Ranji Trophy league match due to pain in his knee, which could have developed due to a high burden during his domestic season. Avesh underwent rehabilitation at BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, and he reportedly cleared one of his last fitness tests on Monday. On March 24, LSG opened their IPL 2025 campaign against Delhi Capitals in the Philippine Sports Stadium in Visakhapatnam, but Avesh Khan missed out on a place in the playing XI. The seamer wasn't yet a hundred percent fit for the opening match. LSG preferred Shardul Thakur as the leading fast bowler because he was brought in as a replacement for the injured Mohsin Khan. LSG had a rough start to the season, losing their opener to Delhi Capitals (DC) in Visakhapatnam on Monday. Injuries have troubled LSG’s Indian pace attack. Mayank Yadav, recovering from a lumbar stress injury, recently suffered a toe issue. Akash Deep, still regaining fitness from a back injury sustained on India’s Test tour of Australia, remains unavailable. Meanwhile, left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan has been ruled out of IPL 2025 due to an ACL tear from December. Shardul Thakur has replaced him in the squad.
