The New Zealand right-handed batter Kane Williamson has stepped into a new role as Sanjiv Goenka-owned Lucknow Super Giants got him signed for the upcoming 2026 Indian Premier League. The former English player was associated with Kolkata Knight Riders. LSG had also signed Bharat Arun, the former Indian bowling coach who served KKR for a long time as a bowling consultant. Bharat Arun has been given the role of bowling coach in LSG. Representing SRH from 2015 to 2022, he played 76 matches and accumulated 2101 runs, making him the team’s third-highest run-scorer in IPL history. Under his captaincy, Sunrisers Hyderabad finished runners-up in the 2018 season, during which Williamson also claimed the Orange Cap with 735 runs from 17 games. In international T20 cricket, he has amassed 2575 runs in 93 matches, with his most recent appearance coming during the 2024 T20 World Cup for New Zealand.
