The IPL mega auction for 2025 has been completed with dramatic changes for many famous names, as the cricketers also shifted to new franchises in place of their old teams for the next season. Similar was the case for Nitish Rana, a loyal player of KKR, who saw his team not place a bid on the 30-year-old batter, with whom Rajasthan Royals signed for INR 4.20 crore instead. Rana was with KKR since 2018, though the franchise didn't retain him. His wife, Saachi Marwah, took to social media network, now-X, erstwhile Twitter, saying she was: "Loyalty is very expensive, not everyone can afford it." It was as if this was an indirect attack on KKR management, who had taken Rana's loyalty for granted and never showed their appreciation for his long-term association with the team. #nitishrana 👑 pic.twitter.com/0Q8PiVE5Zi — saachi marwah (@MarwahSaachi) November 25, 2024 Also Read | Youngest IPL 2025 Player Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Father Responds To Age Fraud Allegations The biggest buy for KKR in the auction was Venkatesh Iyer, who was bought at INR 23.75 crore, which makes him the third-most expensive player in the auction. Although KKR didn't retain Iyer initially, they chose to buy him back at this price and have left many speculators in different fan groups as well as cricket experts speechless. KKR found it challenging to deploy Rana in the 2024 IPL season, given that he was missing games because of injuries. His input towards KKR's wins in the IPL season 2024 is worth never forgetting. Rana now moves to Rajasthan Royals. The biggest buy during the auction for Rajasthan was Jofra Archer, who came for INR 12.50 crore. For Rana, he has a pay-cut also; from earning INR 8 crores with KKR, he will draw INR 3.8 crores here with Rajasthan Royals because of this change over.
