India needs 193 runs to win the third Test against England and gain an upper hand in the five-match series. On paper, it is not a huge target but Test cricket is not like limited-overs cricket. And with 7 wickets already lost, India is in grave danger. This series has been a close one. England took the first test at Leeds, and India struck back at Birmingham. Now, with the series 1-1, the team that wins this Test will lead the series. But it is not going to happen for India as Day 5 is being dominated by England till now. Most fans might believe chasing 193 would be simple. But in Test cricket, even small targets can get complicated, particularly on Day 5 wickets favoring bowlers and patience-testing batters of the test. And if India doesn't chase this down, it won't be an unusual occurrence either. There have been instances where India couldn't even chase 120. India were bowled out for a mere 81. The match so depressed the team that Sachin Tendulkar once mentioned it made him consider retirement. So although 193 might look attainable, history attests that it is anything but simple, particularly under threat on the last day of a closely contested Test.
