Liam Livingstone saved the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) from a humiliating collapse at their home ground, M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The all-rounder signed for ₹8.75 crore in the IPL 2025 auction made an immediate impact in this new franchise. His previous IPL experiences were in the Punjab Kings franchise in the 2022 and 2023 seasons before an unsuccessful season in 2024 that led to his release. His form for England over this last year has also not been the best. But he has a remarkable IPL 2025 season for RCB as he has played three matches with very good performances. His innings came at a crucial time, with RCB in dire straits at 35/3 with the captain, Rajat Patidar, dismissed for a mere 12 runs. Together with Jitesh Sharma, Livingstone made sure no further damage was inflicted on the innings. Also Read | Rohit Sharma’s Form Worsens – Will MI Drop Their Star? Livingstone started badly with a strike rate of less than 100, clearly having difficulty picking the right ball to hit. In fact, he was dropped by Rahul Tewatia when he had only 9 off 11 balls. Livingstone, however, made it all the way through. After 25 deliveries, he'd scored only 23 runs. By the time RCB lost Jitesh Sharma and Krunal Pandya in the 15th over, Livingstone had no option but to up the ante. In the next 15 balls, 31 more runs were scored by him and so did Tim David in an aggressive manner. RCB turned the tables from a difficult situation to clamber onto 169, a score that had once seemed improbable. If they win this match, the show will belong to Livingstone.
