India won a legendary grand finale against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy 2025 on Sunday, March 09 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was forceful in the chase, wherein his team went through with ease of 252-run target left behind by the Kiwis, due to his 76 from 83 balls. Leading from the front, Rohit was handed over the Player of the Match award for his outstanding innings, dotted with seven fours and three sixes. Rohit became the newest recipient of the Player of the Match award in the Champions Trophy finals' history, which began its first season in 1998. He also became the second Indian cricketer to be awarded the honor after Ravindra Jadeja won the same for his counterattacking all-round efforts in the finals against England in the 2013 season, in which India won for the first time.
