The BCCI has announced that 574 players will take part in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, that is scheduled to be conducted in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25. Indian players numbered 366, overseas 208, and three belonged to associate nations. Among them, 318 were uncapped Indian players and 12 overseas players who are uncapped. They went as deep as Rs 558.5 crore into their pockets on the retentions. Full Retentions: Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. Five Retentions: Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Four Retentions: Delhi Capitals. Three Retentions: Royal Challengers Bangalore Two Retentions: Punjab Kings Punjab Kings will start with the biggest purse - Rs 110.5 crore. Player Pool and Competition 1,574 players were registered beforehand for the auction. There was a pool of 1,165 Indian players and 409 overseas players. Teams will be fighting for 204 slots that are available to form well-rounded teams in the 2025 season. Each franchise can have just 25 players which makes this all the more crucial for the strategies of the teams.
