Mumbai Indians Women have appointed Lisa Keightley as their new head coach for the next season of the Women's Premier League (WPL). The 54-year-old former Australian player will assume responsibility after Charlotte Edwards, who led MI to two WPL titles, resigned this year to serve as England's head coach. Keightley, whose playing and coaching career has been long and illustrious, is not new to great challenges and will now look to continue Mumbai Indians' reign in the league. They had won the very first season in 2023 and again in 2025 by defeating Delhi Capitals in the final. They lost in 2024, though, falling to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Eliminator. With two titles in three seasons, MI have raised the standard in women's franchise cricket, and the addition of Lisa Keightley is likely to bring in more firepower to their already winning combination.
