Kolkata Knight Riders were cornered in all departments by the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens on April 2nd. Earlier the guest put up a huge score and then didn't let KKR batters settle with the bat. Right after the second powerplay, Jaydev Unadkat came and bowled out KKR's final wicket, Varun Chakravarthy, in the last ball of the 16th over as SRH bundled out KKR for 161 runs, winning the match by a huge margin of 65 runs. SRH had an explosive start before the KKR bowler got things in control, but Heinrich Klaasen and And Reddy took over 200. KKR too had a good powerplay, credits to Finn Allen and later to Angrish Raghuvangshi. But KKR eventually messed up despite loose fielding from SRH in the middle. SRH Crush KKR at Eden Sunrisers Hyderabad produced another batting masterclass before their bowlers dismantled Kolkata Knight Riders for a commanding 65-run win at Eden Gardens. Asked to bat first, SRH stormed out of the blocks through Travis Head’s 46 off 21 and Abhishek Sharma’s 48 off 21, racing to 82 in just 5.4 overs. Even after KKR clawed back with quick strikes, Heinrich Klaasen anchored the middle overs with a fluent 52 off 35, while Nitish Kumar Reddy’s 39 off 24 powered the late surge. SRH smashed 58 in the final five overs to post a massive 226/8 in 20 overs at 11.30 per over. Blessing Muzarabani was KKR’s best bowler with 4/41, while Vaibhav Arora claimed 2/47. However, the expensive spells from Varun Chakravarthy (0/31 in 2) and Kartik Tyagi (1/48) hurt the hosts badly. Rinku Singh scored 35 off 25, yet lacked support as the middle order folded. Jaydev Unadkat starred with 3/21, while Eshan Malinga’s disciplined 2/14 in two overs broke the chase’s backbone. Nitish Kumar Reddy added 2/17 as KKR were bundled out for 161 in 16 overs, falling 65 runs short despite their aggressive start.
