The whole of cricketing world erupted with joy on Sunday evening as soon as Virat Kohli found the fence over extra cover, scoring yet another century and taking India home. After restricting Pakistan to a score 241, India chased down the target quite comfortably in just 42.3 overs with 6 wickets in hand, courtesy Kohli the anchor. This was India's second consecutive win of the tournament and Pakistan's second consecutive loss. King Kohli Brings Back the Old Days Virat Kohli came in to bat after India lost skipper Rohit Sharma to a lovely inswinging yorker from Shaheen Afridi. The scorecard read 31/1 with India needing 211 runs more. Shubman Gill's counter-attack allowed Kohli to take his time and get set for a long innings. Little did everyone know, they were about to witness one of the classic "Kohli hundreds", an innings that takes you back to his younger days. There was this feeling of comfort throughout the chase when Kohli was out there, a feeling that was very common a few years back for all the Kohli fans. It was a typical Kohli masterclass from the chase-master himself. That knock was calm, composed and looked to be in control in every sense. Taking almost no risk, playing no fancy or extraordinary shots but still taking your team home in the most comfortable manner, while keeping a strike rate of 90+, that is Virat Kohli for you right there. The knock reminds one of their younger self, where they would have more faith in Kohli than the entire world while he was chasing a total. He just scored 7 fours which means that he scored more than 70 runs by just running between the wickets- another signature Kohli move. The whole cricketing fraternity praised Virat's knock and it was definitely a special as well as an emotional moment for his fans because of his struggle in recent times. The past 2-3 months were horrible for Virat with the bat, whether it was the Border-Gavaskar Trophy or his appearance in the Ranji Trophy match. He looked completely out of place but did show some signs of form in the recent ODIs against England. The Indian legend brought up his 82nd century in international cricket which was his 51st ton in ODIs, most by any batter. Throughout the chase, Kohli looked assured and gave alot of confidence in himself to the fans, once again just like the Kohli of the past. Clash Against New Zealand After India beat Pakistan, New Zealand went on to defeat Bangladesh on Monday which means that Pakistan and Bangladesh are officially out of the tournament while India and NZ have proceeded to the semis. India and NZ will now lock horns on 3rd March which will decide their final standings in the group and eventually the team that they'll face in the semi final. Virat Kohli now seems to have returned to his form. He will be looking to capitalise on this opportunity and score big once again before entering into the knockouts. The way he batted against Pakistan has once again ignited Indian fans' belief in him. They have seen their hero rise to the occasion once again. They are once again hyped up for his next match, for him to enter the field and score runs. The Virat Kohli that we all used to see years back might just be well and truly back!
