It is not often that you see Virat Kohli being hit on the helmet after missing a bouncer and that is a very rare feat which Matheesha Pathirana achieved when he sent a searing bouncer at 142 clicks off his slingy action to Virat Kohli in the 11th over which took Kohli by surprise and missed the pull to get hit on the helmet. The physio rushed on to the ground immediately and even Pathirana quickly checked up with Kohli if he was okay and got a thumbs up from him. Thankfully, Kohli was fine and was ready to resume after a brief concussion check. Also read: MS Dhoni's Lightning Stumping! Kohli was 16 off 22 before the ball hit his helmet and was struggling for timing on the Chepauk track looking very unlike Kohli. But then, immediately post that Kohli was more than ready for the bouncer which he anticipated successfully on the very next ball and hooked it over fine leg for a maximum and then gave a big typical Kohli roar. He then wristed one powerfully through mid-wicket and just like that got 10 off two balls after struggling for most parts.
