Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul has officially joined the Delhi Capitals (DC) squad following the birth of his daughter. The star cricketer, who previously captained Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), is now expected to make his debut for DC in their upcoming match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday, March 30. Rahul and his wife, actor Athiya Shetty, joyfully announced the arrival of their baby girl on March 24. The couple took to social media to share the news, expressing their happiness and acknowledging the support from fans. Due to the birth of his daughter, Rahul had to miss DC’s opening match against LSG, which the team won by a narrow margin of one wicket. Delhi Capitals also celebrated Rahul’s arrival in style. In a heartwarming video shared on the franchise’s official social media page, a young DC fan is seen presenting Rahul with the team cap before draping him in the DC flag. The video was made even more special with iconic dialogues from Shah Rukh Khan’s hit movie Om Shanti Om. At the end of the clip, Rahul declares, “I’m home.” You're loved. You're ours. You're home. 🥹Welcome to Dilli, KLR 💙❤️ pic.twitter.com/qUBPHAYUyU — Delhi Capitals (@DelhiCapitals) March 29, 2025 As DC prepares for their clash against SRH at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, another video shared by the franchise showed a glimpse of Rahul's practice in the nets.
