KL Rahul fell short to just 4 runs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in the unofficial Test match between India A and Australia A. Earlier, Rahul, along with the substitute wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel, travelled to Australia for the unofficial Test started today, November 7. With Rohit Sharma being unavailable in the first test, Rahul tried to revise his spot at the opening slot. Rahul already has 2551 runs, opening for India, before being shifted to the middle order. The Border Gavaskar Trophy will kick off on November 22, with Perth hosting the first one. The Indian dressing room, however, looks scary after facing a 0-3 historical defeat to New Zealand. From having a safer place in the World Test Championship ranking to requiring at least four wins in the series for the qualification, India is in a shaky situation. Even though Rahul was not a part of the last two tests at Pune and Mumbai, his contribution to the usual batting collapse of the team was 0 and 12 runs in Bengaluru. However, when the team was asked to take part in the only practice match against India, they denied. It was just Rahul and Jurel who joined India A at the MCG.
