The second Test match between India and New Zealand at the MCA stadium in Pune went underway today, India made three changes for this match. Indian captain Rohit Sharma, in a bid to make a comeback after the Bengaluru Test defeat, has made three significant changes to the playing XI. As expected, Shubman Gill returned to the lineup, replacing KL Rahul after recovering from the neck stiffness that kept him out of the first Test in Bengaluru. India decided to retain Sarfaraz Khan, following his impressive 150 in the series opener, which meant Rahul was once again left out of the squad. Akash Deep came in for Mohammed Siraj, who, despite his strong performances, had been struggling to take wickets in recent outings. The real surprise came with Washington Sundar's selection over Kuldeep Yadav. Sundar was added to the squad for the second Test, likely due to New Zealand's lineup having several left-handers. Sundar's addition also strengthens India's lower-order batting, offering more stability.
