KKr did pick some famous names like Umran Malik, Quinton de Kock Moeen Ali, and even the West T20 captain Rovman Powell. Earlier, KKR had retained Rinku Singh (₹13 crore), Varun Chakaravarthy (₹12 crore), Sunil Narine (₹12 crore), Andre Russell (₹11 crore), Harshit Rana (₹4 crore), and Ramandeep Singh (₹4 crore). Both Ramandeep and Harshit Rana got the national caps after the retension was done. Gautam Gambhir, who mentored the team for their third IPL trophy, has been replaced by former West Indies cricketer Dwayne Bravo earlier this year.
