Veteran all-rounder Kieron Pollard has again proved why he is a T20 legend. At 38, Pollard was instrumental in guiding Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) to their fifth Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 championship. The CPL 2025 final was won by TKR by three wickets over Guyana Amazon Warriors in a nail-biting contest. By this victory, Pollard created a new record, and he became the leading player with most T20 tournament final victories, overtaking Dwayne Bravo. Both Pollard and Bravo were equal at 17 T20 finals victories before the game. Pollard's CPL 2025 final win pushed him to a total of 18, making him the undisputed number one. Some other prominent stars such as Shoaib Malik, Sunil Narine, Rohit Sharma, and Andre Russell are also among players with two or more T20 tournament victories. Iftikhar Ahmed and Ben McDermott made contributions in helping the Warriors achieve a target. Although there was a competitive pursuit of the total, the batting lineup of TKR was able to chase the score, winning the game by three wickets and their fifth CPL title. Pollard spoke about the game and the tournament after the match. At the post-match presentation ceremony, Pollard expressed: "I think it's a fantastic moment, not only for myself and my family, who have continued to urge me to play cricket, but for the entire TKR team. We changed leadership at the start of this tournament, and we have a new coach and a new captain. Being able to contribute to our winning cause, I think we couldn't ask for anything better. Nicholas Pooran has been playing CPL for 13 years, and he's getting his first CPL with us. Dwayne Bravo is getting his first championship as a head coach. The support of each and everybody was fantastic." Pollard's all-rounder performance also won him the Player of the Tournament award in CPL 2025, culminating in a great season. His experience, leadership, and consistent output have cemented his status as one of the greatest players of T20 cricket.
