Karnataka declared a 15-member side for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 on Friday, November 15. Mayank Agarwal would lead an exciting mix of youth and experience for the side, while Manish Pandey has been tagged as a deputy to Agarwal in the tournament. The 17th edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will start from November 23 to December 15. Karnataka has been placed in Group B, which includes some of the mighty teams such as Gujarat, Saurashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Baroda, among others. The former India opener was the highest run-getter for Karnataka in the last edition of the tournament. Worth mentioning here is that Karnataka could not even make it to the knockout stage last year as it finished third in the group behind Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The two wicketkeeper additions to the team are Shrijith KL and Chethan LR. The two new bright young batting prospects that Karnataka has are Devdutt Padikkal and Abhinav Manohar. Former two-time champions will look to rely on Shreyas Gopal for the spin-bowling department to lead their charge.
