The South Africa Women vs Pakistan Women ODI series concluded on September 22 with South Africa Women winning the series 2-1. What caught the eyes, though, was South Africa captain Marizanne Kapp's special tweet on her X handle, a dig at the cricket of Pakistan women. Although South Africa Women had taken the initial two matches, the third ODI was won by Pakistan in a six-wicket triumph. However, a win is a win, and Marizanne Kapp appeared to emphasize that note. Addressing her former-handle, Marizanne Kapp posted photos of her training with the bat at the nets on the morning of 24th September. The images depicted her sweating out while hitting some elegant drives and shots. What was most noticeable was the caption. The initial match witnessed SA-W chase a straightforward 256-run total, winning by 8 wickets. The second game, though, was maybe headed by the rain gods, as SA-W triumphed under the DLS procedure. The third ODI, though, was in favor of the hosts, who registered a convincing six-wicket win after reducing Proteas Women to a mere 115 runs to achieve an easy pursuit. Significantly, 35-year-old veteran Marizanne Kapp featured in only one game against Pakistan in the first ODI, where she hit a match-winning 120 runs off 128 balls at a strike rate of 93.75. South Africa Women will now travel to their first Women's World Cup game against England Women on October 3, with the main tournament kick-starting on September 30.
