Former Kiwi skipper and one of the favourite players from the New Zealand cricket team, Kane Williamson is set to play in the County Championship and will be featuring in the Hundred competition as well. The 34-year-old batter signed a two-year contract deal with Middlesex for the upcoming new season, which is set to commence in English Summer 2025. He is set to play at least 10 matches in the white-ball tournament and will feature in at least five matches of the County Championship in the later half of the season. It is interesting to note that this will not be the first time when Kane Williamson will be featuring in the County Championship. He has already played for the Gloucestershire team in 2011 and 2012 and then for Yorkshire between 2013 and 2018. The Middlesex team will be looking to start on a high note after the team finished in the third position in Division Two of the County Championship in 2024, they will be further excited about the addition of the Kiwi batter for this season. Kane Williamson expressed his excitement about his participation in the County Championship and playing for the Middlesex team, he further expressed his joy at playing at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. In an official release, Kane said: "I've played a bit of county cricket in the past, but not for a number of years now, so when this opportunity arose with Middlesex, it was a really exciting prospect. To play for a fine club with such a rich heritage is something I’m really looking forward to. Lord’s is one of my favorite grounds in the world for so many reasons, and the chance to call it home for the summer is special.” Kane Williamson has been a vital player for New Zealand for a long time now, he is set to feature in the upcoming Champions Trophy and recently he also achieved the milestone of 7000 ODI runs.
