Pakistan's disappointing defeat against Bangladesh in the opening Test has sparked criticism. That defeat also turned out to be the first-ever defeat against Bangladesh in the Test cricket history of Pakistan. Former cricketer Basit Ali urged PCB to take inspiration from India by holding more red-ball tournaments to build a better player pool. He further criticized the PCB on scheduling a One-Day tournament after the Bangladesh Tests, showing more emphasis on red-ball cricket, which is where the depth is certainly lacking in Pakistan. Basit said that in the past, Pakistan copied systems from England, Australia, and New Zealand, but now they should focus on India and try to follow their domestic system. He said on Youtube, "There will be a One-Day tournament called the Champions Cup after the Test series. Pakistan have copied the systems of England, Australia, and New Zealand. India is right next to us, please copy their system too. You need intelligence in copying as well. Just copy what India is doing. The Duleep Trophy is about to begin. Is it a T20 or One-Day tournament? It is a four-day tournament. They are focused on making their base stronger, which is why they are so successful," Abrar Ahmed and Kamran Ghulam, who were earlier released from Pakistan's Test squad against Bangladesh, have been called back for the second Test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, taking place from August 30 to September 3. Abrar, a leg-spinner with great control and skill at turning the ball on subcontinent pitches, is likely to give Pakistan more spin options. Kamran, a middle-order batsman, adds strength and stability to the batting lineup. Also Read | Checkout Ravichandran Ashwin’s All-Time IPL XI: The Best of the Best
